I was given three silver cases that day. The first instructed me to officially resign from the bureau, and this new investigation had to be done independently and single-handedly. The second was a collection of files related to a being named "S#00." The third was every recorded instance of sightings and victims of S#00. At the time I wondered why they would assign someone to investigate something of this nature, as its outside of our jurisdiction, and that's why they would not want any of this traced back to them.




When the mind is left to its own devices, it fabricates misinformation that we tie to reality, the more ties it can create the more real the lies become, until it is indistinguishable from the truth. This is a common feature among those who come in contact with S#00, and often accompanies paranoia, delusion, psychosis, and even multiple personality disorder. There are no recorded cases of anyone fully recovering.
